Dorothy J. Kots, 55, of Le Mars, died Monday, October 5,1987, in a hospital in Le Mars after a brief illness. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 8, in Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. Jerry Hahn officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Kots, the former Dorothy Hand, was born May 22, 1932, in Hawarden and graduated from Hawarden High School in 1950. She married Marvin Kots Jan. 14, 1951, in Hawarden. The couple moved to Le Mars in 1952. Mrs. Kots was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Steven of Corpus Christi, TX; two daughters, Mrs. Orville (Barbara Jean) Hames, Jr. and Mrs. Mark (Shelly) Schlesser, both of Le Mars; her mother, Elsie Hand, of Le Mars; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Vivian) Popken, of Pea Ridge, AR, and four grandchildren.
