Joy Hansen, 93, of Vermillion, died Wednesday, July 8, 1987, at the Morningside Manor in Alcester following a long illness. Services were at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at United Methodist Church in Vermillion with Rev. Calvin Petersen officiating. Burial was in Bluff View Cemetery under direction of Iverson- Siecke Funeral Home.

Mr. Hansen was born December 7, 1893, at Hawarden and lived in the Vermillion area the past 50 years. He married Fannie Harvey on April 20, 1925, at Gettysburg, SD. She died August 22,1984, in Vermillion. He was a retired farmer and veteran of World War I.

Survivors include a son, Francis; and a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Geraldine) Clark, both of Vermillion; a sister, Lillian Crandall; and a brother, Homer, both of Spearfish, SD; eight grandchildren, and 11 greatgrandchildren
