Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Hopmann, 48, who died Wednesday of last week at the Hawarden Hospital where she had been a patient one day, having previously been hospitalized at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, were held at 2 o’clock Saturday at Rock Rapids, Reverend Leland Kleopfer officiating. Interment was at the Alvord Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Roger Hodgson, Roswell Otis, Kornelius Moolbroek, Joe Mohan, Lester Van Buskirk and Marlin Moeller.

Mrs. Lorraine (Pennington) Hopmann was born April 12, 1916, at Obesey, Texas, and made her home there until 1944. She married Henry Hopmann February 27, 1944, and they resided in Rock Rapids before coming here in 1953. They lived in Omaha a short time but returned to Hawarden to make their home at 1325 Avenue N.

Survivors include the widower; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Marian) Anderson of Harrisburg, South Dakota; a son, William Pennington of Sioux Falls; three sisters and three brothers, all living in Texas, and five grandchildren.

Among those attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Weaver of Jacksonville, Texas, with whom Mr. Hopmann returned Wednesday of this week to spend about 10 days, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Seymour of Grand Prairie, Texas, Joe Shavers of Dallas, Texas, and many others from Sibley, Sioux Falls, Luverne, Alcester, Inwood, Doon , Alvord, Rock Rapids and Hawarden.
