Death: March 21, 1963Funeral services for Otto J. Schimming, 52, who died unexpectedly from a heart attack at his home Thursday afternoon, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral home, Dr. Franklin Morse officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Hal Shoemaker, organist, accompanied Mr. Shoemaker as soloist. Casket bearers were Patrick Kelley,William Kelley, Roger Falde, Jack Blake, Richard Ball and William Gant.
Mr. Schimming was born February 27, 1911, to Emil and Elizabeth (Klumb) Schimming at Hawarden. He resided on a farm here until two years ago when he moved to town. He married Mrs. Lucille Kelley of Hawarden September 19, 1961.He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include the widow and seven step-children.
Attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Connie O'Connor, who arrived from Phoenix,Arizona, Saturday, Mr. and Mrs.Jack Blake of Sioux Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Boerma and Dale of Sioux Center and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Reit of Beresford. Mr. and Mrs, Mick Kelley and Monica of
Massena, Iowa, who had come the week end, returned home before the funeral.
