Mrs. Raymond Waterman, 48, former Hawarden resident, died in Iowa City Hospital Wednesday where she had been a patient since Monday. She had been in ill health for the past two weeks and death was attributed to a massive coronary hemorrhage.

Born June 14, 1915, at Hawarden, Opal Beradine Green was the daughter of Elvin and Anna Voverka Green. She received her education and grew to womanhood in the Hawarden community.

On September 21, 1931, she married Raymond Waterman and the couple lived in Hawarden and Waterloo and in the Laurel and Marshalltown communities for the last 15 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers.

Surviving are her husband and five daughters, Mrs. James (Shirley) Quinn of Waterloo, Mrs. James, (Bette) Shively of Marshalltown, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Sietmann of Haverhill, Mrs. Carlton Schnatchhorst of Laurel and Patricia, at home. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Nolan Waterman of Montour, Floyd Green of Ireton, Mrs. Herb Marshall and Lyle Green of Hawarden, Glen of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Herschel Lindquist of Evansdale.

Services were held Saturday with burial in the Graceland Cemetery west of Laurel.
