John Post, 84 of Rock Valley died Friday August 1, at Valley Manor in Rock Valley.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Netherlands Reformed Church in Rock Valley with Rev. G. M. de Leeuw officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Post was born near York, MN. the son of Klaas and Adrianna (Kleyn) Post. The family later moved to northwestern IA. He married Jennie Van Den Berg on Dec. 2, 1940, in Rock Valley. She died Feb. 8, 1984. He moved into Rock Valley in 1997 and to Valley Manor on Oct. 31, 2001.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, Clayton and Janice Post, Ronald and Karen Post and Dennis and Connie Post and Arlin and Sally Post of Doon; 15 grandchildren, a brother, Simon Post of Doon; sister, Cora Jongetjes of Rock Valley; a brother-in-law, Ben Van Den Berg of Rock Valley; and sister-in-law, Alydia Post of Rock Valley.

He is preceded in death by a grandson and a granddaughter and two brothers, Clarence and Dick Post.
