Arnold E. Wilson, 73, of Hawarden died Friday, November 17, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were at 1:30 P.M. Monday, November 20, at the American Lutheran Church in Hawarden with the Reverend Loren Vogler officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Akron, with military rites by the Hawarden American Legion.

Wilson was born December 9, 1921, in Sioux City, the son of Ernest and Jessie (Carter) Wilson. He attended school and college in Minnesota and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Adelaide Harms in May 1947. He married Donna Waterman August 26, 1957, in Sioux City. The couple lived in Hawarden, Brookings, South Dakota, and California, returning to Hawarden in 1980. He was a long-haul truck driver and drove for many years for Heyl Truck Lines in Akron.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; four sons, Rick Waterman of Hawarden, Steven Waterman and his wife, Marge of Sioux Falls, Stuart Waterman and his wife, Becky of Canton, South Dakota, and Rocky Waterman and his wife Alice of Hawarden; five daughters, Pattie Jo Noethe and her husband Jack of Britt, Jan Marie Pennings and her husband Ivan of Sheldon, Wendy Lee Wilson of Sanborn, Connie Logemann and her husband Dennis of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, and Val Schlumbohm and her husband Hudd of Hawarden; two brothers and their wives, Les and Donna of Sioux City and Duane and Caroline of Council Bluffs; four sisters, Margaret Tarrence of California, Carol Petersen and her husband Don of Beebeetown, Phyllis Jordt of Paris, Texas, and Vera Ashley; 25 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
