Born: July 22, 1853
Died: 1942

Mrs. Phebe Wilson, a resident of Hawarden four years, passed away shortly before midnight Tuesday following an illness of a week. Mrs. Wilson made her home with her daughter, Mrs. R.F. Bradford.

Her remains were taken to Eagle Grove, her former home, and funeral services will be held there at Kubschek & Kassler Chapel Friday afternoon. Burial will be at Eagle Grove.

Mrs. Wilson was born at Lewisburg, Ohio, July 22, 1853, so would have been 90 years old had she lived until her next birthday. She grew to young womanhood in Ohio. Later she came to Belle Plaine, Iowa, where she was married to Walter Wilson. After her marriage she continued to live at Belle Plaine, but most of her life she lived in Eagle Grove.

She was the mother of six children, three of whom, two sons and a daughter, preceded her in death. The children who survive her are Mrs. R.F. Bradford of Hawarden; Mrs. M.T. Miller of Decatur, Illinois, and Mrs. F.J. Baker of Copperstown, North Dakota.

Mrs. Wilson was reared in the Baptist Church and was a member of that church in Eagle Grove. She was faithful to her belief until the end, but was unable to attend church after coming to Hawarden, due to her advanced years. Even though almost 90 years of age, she was able to be up and about every day until her final illness. She made a number of friends during her residence in Hawarden and all who formed her acquaintance speak highly of her.
