Mrs. John Wendel, 54, passed away Monday at her home southwest of Hawarden following a long illness. She was stricken with Hodgkins disease about seven years ago and preceding her death was bedfast for almost three months.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, with the Reverend C.A. Burkhart in charge. Interment was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Hulda Reiser was born at Yankton, South Dakota, on December 29, 1891. In spring of 1900, she moved with her parents onto a farm near Tripp, South Dakota. Later was employed in Sioux City for a number of years. She was united in marriage with John Wendel of Hawarden on March 4, 1925, and to this union were born three children. Ever since her marriage she lived in this vicinity.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Robert, Arlene and Helen; two brothers, John and Fred Reiser, and one sister, Alma, all of Tripp, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
