Died: April 9 2002 Sibley, Iowa

Frances Rose, 91, Orange City died Tuesday April 9 at Country View Manor in Sibley.

Services were Friday April 12, at First Presbyterian Church of Sibley, with Rev. Kenneth Macleod officiating. Burial was at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley under the direction of Walton-Roste Funeral Home in Sibley.

Frances Rose, daughter of Neal and Mary (Vander Meer) Van Citters, was born May 22, 1911, in Orange City. Her family moved to Sibley when she was a small child. She attended country school south of Sibley. She worked for the telephone company. She married John F. Rose on July 30, 1932, in Sibley. They made their home on a farm south of Sibley. Mr. Rose Died April 5, 1982. She continued to live on the farm. She became a resident of Country View manor in Sibley on July 21, 1989. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, where she kept active with the youth choir and creating quilts for donation. She enjoyed farm life, tending to her flowers and cooking for her family and friends. When she was young she enjoyed organizing weddings.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis and Janet Rose of Minneapolis, and Jim Rose of St. Paul, MN; five grandchildren, and a sister, Mildred Stachour of Sibley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Rose; a sister Genevieve Truckenmiller and two brothers, Casper Van Citters and Richard Van Citters.
