Ireton people were greatly saddened Sunday morning to learn of the death of Mrs. Gerrit Pylman, which occurred just a few minutes after midnight Sunday morning at the hospital in Le Mars where she had been taken less than two weeks before for treatment. She underwent a minor operation after reaching the hospital but this only served to locate the more serious cause of her trouble which was a tumor between the lungs and it was found impossible to remove this tumor. She failed steadily during the last week at the hospital and the end was not unexpected.

The remains were brought back to Ireton Sunday and taken to the Pylman home. Brief funeral services were held at the home at 1 :30 Wed. afternoon after which services were held at the Christian Reformed church, conducted by Rev. Wm. Terpsma, and interment was made in the Ireton Cemetery.
Minnie Meines was the youngest child of a large family. She was born in Holland Dec. 29, 1891 so at the time of her death was 32 yeaers, 4 months and 5 days of age. She came to America with her parents when 14 years of age and the family located at Grand Rapids, MI where she grew to young womanhood. On July 22, 1914, she was united in marriage with Gerrit Pylman in Grand Rapids. The following January they came to Ireton and with the exception of about a year and a half when they lived at Lebanon and a few months in Hawarden, her home has since been here. Besides the sorrowing husband, she leaves three little daughters, Gertrude, aged 8, Ruth aged 5, and Esther, who is just a little more than 1 year old. She also leaves her aged mother, Mrs. Jacob Sinkey of Orange City and two brothers and three sisters, Harold Meines who lives near Grand Rapids, MI, K. Meines of Highland CA, Mrs Rena Dykstra of Racine, Wis. and Mrs. Peter Ganzeveld, residing west of Ireton, and Mrs. Tom Hoogeboom of Sheldon.

The sympathy of many Ireton friends goes to the members of the grief stricken family--the husband whose ten years of happy wedded life is thus brought to a close and whose plans and dreams of future happy home life are suddenly shattered, and to the little children who scarcely yet realize the calamity which has befallen them in the loss of the tender guidance of a mother's love.
