Services to Be Held Today For Mrs. Wilkison Final Rites Scheduled for 2:30 This Afternoon for Resident Of Hawarden for Last 38 Years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Roy Wilkison, 58, who died early Tuesday morning in St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City, will be held at 2:30 .this afternoon at the Associated church. Rev. Theodore A. Mansen, the pastor, will be in charge at the church and the Rebekah lodge will conduct the graveside rites. The Royal Neighbors and V. F. W. Auxiliary members will attend in a body.

Mrs. Wilkison had resided in Hawarden, 38 years and here she raised her family of eleven children. During her life in Hawarden She was active in church and fraternal organizations

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors over a long period of time and for two years served as oracle. In this organization she held several other offices. She also was affiliated-with the Rebekah lodge and the V. F. W. Auxiliary, following World War II. Three of her sons served during the war. For many years she was a member of the Associated Ladies Aid.

Mrs. Wilkison had been in poor health for quite some time. The latter part of January she was taken to the Sioux City hospital for medical care. During her illness at the hospital all of her children came home to be with her.

Nellie Matilda Olson was born March 13, 1890, at Soldier, Iowa. She was baptized in the Lutheran church at Soldier. As a young woman she entered a nurses training school in Omaha. On August 14, 1906, she was married to Roy Wilkison at Mapleton and following her marriage she lived two years at Joplin, Mo., while her husband attended school. She then moved to Blanchard, Iowa, where she lived
two years. In 1910 she went to Alcester and after living there five years came to Hawarden to make her home.

Survivors are her husband and eleven children, seven sons and four daughters. The children are John, Lowell and Neil Wilkison, Mrs. Veronica Heldt and Mrs. Wanda Kennedy of Hawarden, Dyson of Bremerton, Wash., Lawrence and Sgt. Maj. De Ronda Wilkison of Chicago, Mrs. Radah Wegner of Hudson, Mrs. Jeanette Gibbons of Akron and Roy Wilkison jr. of Washington IA. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Minnie Rea of Avon CA and 11 grandchildren.
