Final Services Held Tuesday For Roy 0. Wilkison
Funeral services for R. 0. Wilkison, 69, who was found dead in his room in the Arlington hotel in
Sioux City Saturday, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral Home. Rev. John C. Thorns of the Associated church officiated. Mrs. Ralph Gregg, jr., sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Beyond the Sunset," with Mrs. Hal Shoemaker as accompanist. Pall bearers were George Busch, Mike Dykstra, Fred Dawson, Lloyd Keehn, Harry Hodoway and Herb Anderson, L Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.

Mr. Wilkison, a well known and popular auctioneer in this vicinity, lived in Hawarden many years. After the death of his wife he lived in Sioux City most of the time. Roy Otis Wilkison, a son of Tom and Ida Wilkison, was born on a farm near Mapleton August 3,1885. On August 14, 1906 he married Nellie M. Olson of Soldier IA. They lived at Joplin MO, while Mr. Wilkison attended an auctioneering school. After that they lived two years at Blanchard IA. In 1910 the family moved to Alcester and in 1917 he came to Hawarden and lived here ever 37 years. His wife Nellie died in 1948.

Survivors are 11 children seven sons and four daughters. They are John, Jack, Neal, Mrs. Harold Heldt and Mrs. Wm. Kennedy of Hawarden. Lowell of Cheyanne, WY. Dyson of Bremerton WA, Lawrence of Chicago, Mrs. Wm. Wegner of Hudson, Mrs. Ray Gibbons of Sioux City and Capt De Ronda Wilkison , who at the present is in Japan; one sister, Mrs. Emma Wegner of Odebolt, Iowa, and 21 grandchildren
