On May 25th at his home near Hudson SD, John Vipond passed away at the age of 62 years. He was born in England and came to this country when a young man of twenty.

On Oct 18th 1876 he was married to Jane Raisbeck at Pleasant View Wisconsin. This union was blessed with five children, two of whom are living, Willam Vipond and Mrs. George Dixon both of Hudson. Death having made him a widower he was married on January 3, 1891 to Mary Budalphson at Canton SD. Seven children were born of which six are living and all at home.

Rev. Milo Weidman conducted the funeral services from the Congregational church at Hudson on May 27th and interment was in Eden cemetery.
