Died-Carrie, wife of Elmer J. Whitney, Wednesday, November 30, 1892, aged 36 years.

Carrie Myrick was born in Otsego county, New York, in 1856. She was married to Elmer J. Whitney in July, 1881, and they moved to Hawarden in 1883. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of this place, and a christian lady whom none knew but to honor and respect.

A husband and two small children, besides numerous other relatives and friends mourn her loss, to whom The Independent hopes that He who holds the destiny of man in His keeping, will send them that consolation that he alone can give.

The funeral services take place at the Baptist Church tomorrow at 11 o'clock, after which all that remains earthly of Mrs. Elmer J. Whitney will be laid to rest in Grace Hill cemetery to away the rich reward in store for the faithful and pure of heart.
