Cyril Gaul, 40, succumbed following a heart attack about 2 o’clock Tuesday at a hospital in Kansas in a town about 10 miles from Glen Elder where he and his resided. He was employed by Van Buskirk Construction Company and suffered the attack while at work.

The body was brought to the Barnard-Dow Funeral Home at Hawarden later that day. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Cyril, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Gaul of Hawarden, was born at Granville, March 12, 1925. He came to Hawarden with his parents in 1937.

A graduate of Hawarden High School he served with the United States Navy four years in World War II.

He married Evelene Heeren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Heeren of Hawarden, August 26, 1946 at Elk Point. He has been employed by the Van Buskirk Company for many years.

Survivors include the widow; six children, David, Diane, Barbara, Michael, Susan, and Jimmie, all of home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Gaul of Hawarden; five brothers, Bob and Jim, both of Hawarden, Charles of Colorado Springs, Milo of St. Paul and Ray of Laurens; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary Ann) Andriesen, and Mrs. Leroy (Lois) Heeren, both of Hawarden, and Mrs. Perry (Bernice) Bader of Omaha, and numerous nieces and nephews.
