Born: 1903
Died: 1937The many friends and neighbors of Harm Klave were deeply saddened when word reached them that he had passed away at his home, one mile west and one mile north of Craig or 5 ½ miles south of Ireton. He died in the home where he was born and he practically lived his entire life there. In the very prime of life, with loved ones, wife and four children about him, looking out in a hopeful, trusting attitude into the future, he was taken ill only 10 days before death called him. He had been working about the farm in the wet and cold, contracted chills and pneumonia developed, which soon became serious and he continued to grow weaker until death claimed him.
Harm was one of the younger sons of Chas. Klave, who farmed the place for years, coming there about 40 years ago, and except for the last few years which he spent in LeMars, he lived on his farm where his wife passed away. Harm attended the country school in his district and applied himself on the farm. On December 3, 1929, he was united in marriage with Edna Eggebrecht of Craig, who with her four daughters survives him, and also his father, three brothers and one sister and many other relatives and friends. Those who knew Harm best speak of him as a man of Honor, Character and purpose. His wife and family were always foremost, yet he was ready to assist whenever the need appeared. He had reached the age of 34 years. The wife and children, father, brothers and sister have the deep sympathy of all in their sad hour.
Funeral services were held from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Craig Sunday afternoon with Reverend L.C. Hanneman in charge. There was a large concourse of friends out to pay the departed their last respect. Interment was made in the Craig Cemetery.
