William James “Bill” Kleene, 55, of Max Meadows, Virginia, and a former resident of Sioux Center, died on October 5. Burial was at Barnett Funeral Chapel in Wytheville, Virginia on October 8, with the Reverend Aubrey Whitlow and the Reverend Randy Morris officiating. Burial was at Raleigh Memorial Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, with Elbert L. Anderson officiating.

Kleene was born on June 17, 1935.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Anderson Kleene of Max Meadows, and daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and Jonny D. Owens of Max Meadows, and Donna C. Kleene of Roanoke, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lynda Kleene of Christianburg, Virginia; sisters, Jacoba Smith of Sioux Center, Adrianna Marra of Orange City and Arlene Smit of Ontario, California; and brothers, LeRoy Kleene of Sioux City, Gerald Kleene of Spirit Lake and Robert Kleene of Roanoke.

The deceased was preceded in death by his father and mother.
