Burial in Sioux Center Community Cemetery, Jan. 9, 1956.
Mrs. Nick Vander Ploeg, nee Ella Vande Berg, passed away early Sat. morning at the age of 68 years, 9 months, 24 days. Mrs. Vander Ploeg was united in marriage on Feb. 23, 1910 on a farm near Sioux Center. The following 22 years were spent on a farm near Carmel and than 14 years east of Sioux Center and in 1946 they retired to make their home in Sioux Center.
Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children; Theodore, Lawrence, Donald, Elmer, and Theresa, Nine grandchildren survive and the following brothers and sisters; Bert Vande Berg; William L. Vande Berg; Henry Vande Berg; Gertie, (Mrs. Andrew Van Beek); Gerrit L. Vande Berg; Jennie (Mrs. Martin Dykshorn) and Art Vande Berg. One sister, Jennie preceeded her in death. Mrs. Vander Ploeg was an active member of First Reformed Church and her sudden passing is mourned by a host of relatives and friends.
