Henry J. Keunen, long time area resident dies; services held Henry J. Keunen passed away at his home in Orange City, on Saturday, October 3, following a year of illness. He had reached the age of 63 years and 5 months. Funeral services held Wednesday at the First Reformed Church were conducted by Rev. Henry Colenbrander. Pallbearers were Bernard Vander Aarde, Lou Van't Hof, Don Frericks, Henry G. Huitink, Harry Mouw, and John Slander. Burial took place at the Orange City cemetery, with Van Etten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Keunen was born in Wisch, The Netherlands, May 3, 1896. He came to this country in January of 1921. In 1928 he was united in marriage with Lena De Vos at Maurice. To this union were born three children: Willard of Alton, Cornie of Sibley, and Nelva (Mrs. George Van Zyl) of Denver, Colorado, all of whom survive him.

In addition to the widow and children, he is survived by five grand-children; a brother, Ben at Steen, Minnesota; two brothers and a sister remaining in the Netherlands.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and,a sister. He had been engaged in farming in the Sioux County area since the time of his arrival in this country.
