Died: April 13, 1999Henry Klarenbeek, 56, of Edgerton, Minnesota, died April 13 at the Hospice Cottage, Luverne, Minnesota.
Services were April 19 at First Reformed Church in Edgerton with the Reverends David Poppen and Jim Hoogeveen officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Edgerton.
Klarenbeek was born December 23, 1942 at Rock Rapids to Henry and Dena (Bos) Klarenbeek. At the age of six, they moved to rural Steen, Minnesota, where he received his education at the rural school. He married Mary Ann Van Driessen July 10, 1963, at Hawarden. The couple lived in Hills, Minnesota, for two years; in Pipestone, Minnesota, for three years; and moved to their acreage at Edgerton in 1969. For the past 16 years, he had been employed at Luverne Truck Equipment of Brandon, South Dakota, until poor health forced him to retire in September 1998. He was lovingly cared for at his home in his courageous fight with cancer until entering the Hospice Cottage at Luverne April 13.
He was a faithful member of First Reformed Church of Edgerton.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; three daughters, Brenda and Brent Wassman of Ocheyedan, Linda and Ron Van Grootheest of Rock Rapids and Julie and Dean Hartle of Cottonwood, Minnesota; five grandchildren; two sisters, Hermina Gerritsen of Rock Rapids and Dianna Klarenbeek of Steen; and three brothers Marinus of Steen, Art of Sioux Falls and John of Luverne.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
