From the Rock Valley Bee, May 5, 1911:
Mrs. Adam Kwikkel died very suddenly at her home in Boyden from [an] attack [of] apoplexy. On the day of her death she was apparently as well as usual. In the evening she ate a hearty supper and shortly afterwards was taken sick and died before medical aid could reach her. She was almost 40 years old. She leaves a husband anf four children.From the Alton Democrat, April 22, 1911: Boyden News:
Mrs. Adam Kwikkle died at her home here in Boyden very suddenly Tuesday evening of apoplexy. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her departure.From the Sioux County Herald (Orange City), April 27, 1911: Boyden:
Tuesday evening Boyden was greatly shocked to learn that Mrs. Adam Kwikkle was stricken with apoplexy from which she died the same night. Three doctors were called but nothing could be done. She leaves beside her husband and four children, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brinkman of Sheldon, to mourn her death. The funeral was held at the Dutch Reformed church.
