Mary Margaret Klein, 86, died December 18 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Sheldon. Funeral services were held Monday, December 22 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon. Father Thomas Donohoe and Monsignori Fred and Edward Klein officiated. Burial was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.

Mary Margaret Steichen was born the daughter of John and Anna Steichen on June 26, 1894 in Alton. She was married to Anton Klein on September 10, 1912 in Alton. He died April 11, 1969.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald of Granville, Anton Jr. Reading, Minnesota, and George of Belgium, Wisconsin; three daughters, Anna Marie (Mrs. Edwin) Budden of Ashton, Agnes (Mrs. Edward) Vonderharr of Granville, and Esther (Mrs. Odilo) Ahlers of Salix, Iowa; two sisters, Agatha (Mrs. Theodore) Joanning of Alton, and Anna (Mrs. (Jerome) Wolf of Sedalia, Missouri; 40 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
