George Jones, 78 of Long Beach, CA. a former early day resident of Chatsworth, died last Friday after an illness of two weeks.

Funeral services were held on Monday at Long Beach and burial was in that city.

When he lived at Chatsworth he worked on a farm with his brother, John Jones. Later he went to Barenveld, Wis. While in Wisconsin he married Miss Mary Johnson, a former Big Springs resident in October of 1900. Later they lived a number of years at Huron, S.D. and seven years ago went to California.

Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Christy Christiansen of Oklahoma City, OK. and Mrs. Clarence Hauge of Sioux City; one son, Jerold, who is U.S. consular to Italy; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones is a sister of Andy Johnson of Hawarden and she has other brothers and sisters residing in this territory.
