Word was received by Mrs. Kate Kennedy and Ruth of the death of Louise M. Kennedy, 65, wife of Leonard P. Kennedy, who was born and raised in Hawarden.

Mrs. Kennedy, who had been in failing health for the last year, died in a Salinas, California hospital. She and her husband operated the Buckaroo café at Soledad, California, for many years. She was a native of New Jersey.

A member of Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church and its altar society, Mrs. Kennedy was affiliated with Victory Institute YLI, Palisades circle No. 103, UAOD, and was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary of Soledad.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 9:30 from the Terry Mortuary followed by Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church at 10 o’clock with the Reverend A. Rodriquez officiating. Interment was at Soledad Community Cemetery.
