Mrs. Ferdinand (Anna) Gaul, 86, of Hawarden, died Sunday, June 30, 1985, in a hospital in Hawarden. Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Edmund Adams officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. The rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Dow Funeral Home, Hawarden.
Mrs. Gaul, the former Anna Marx, was born Jan. 29. 1899, in Granville. She married Ferdinand Gaul Nov. 22, 1921, in Granville. The couple moved to Hawarden in 1936. He died Jan. 12, 1966. Mrs. Gaul was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild. She was preceded in death by three sons, Francis, Cyril and Robert Gaul.
Survivors include four sons, Charles of Colorado Springs, CO, Milo of St. Paul, MM, Ray of Scranton, and James of Sergeant Bluff; three daughters, Penny Andriesen, Lois Heeren and Bernice Badel, all of Hawarden; 27 grandchildren, and 27-great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were James Skogman, Alfred Skogman, William Edmunds, Joe Koob, Bernard Koob, C. L. Moen, Henry Peterson, and Fred Hoogestraat. Active pallbearers were Dennis Heeren, Tom Heeren, Mark Gaul, Jim Gaul, Steve Gaul and Kyle Gaul.
