Funeral services for John Kreykes, 75, of Sanborn were held Wednesday, April 27, at Sanborn Funeral Home. The Reverend Paul Hansen officiated with burial in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn.

John Henry Kreykes, son of Jannes and Henrietta Kreykes, was born in Hospers on March 31, 1908. He lived his youth and attended school in the Sheldon vicinities. He served in the Air Corps in World War II.

John was married to Elsie Norine Ahrens of Sanborn on March 24, 1961, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. They spent their entire married life in the Sanborn area where he was employed by the Milwaukee Road for 30 years. Mr. Kreykes passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital on April 22.

He is survived by his wife, Norine; two stepchildren, Mrs. Jack (Carole) Bergendahl, Lake Park; Lyle Ahrens, Waxahachie Texas; five step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Fred, Mankato, Minnesota; James, Sheldon; Lee, Cherokee; three sisters: Jennie Wiersma, Sheldon; Florence Zuiderweg, Vallejo, California; and Anna Victoria, Cherokee.
