Funeral services were held Saturday, February 1st, at 1:00 p.m. at the Boyden First Reformed Church Fellowship Room and at 1:30 p.m. in the church for Mrs. John W. Moret, with Reverend G. Schoon officiating, under arrangements by the Vander Ploeg funeral home of Sioux Center.

Pallbearers were six grandsons: Leroy Moret, Harvey Moret, Edwin Diekevers, Marvin Moret, Ronald Moret and Norman Rens.

Special music was a duet "Saved by Grace" sung by Norman and Larray Moret, and a solo, "Beyond the Sunset" sung by Norman Moret. Organist was Mrs. William Rens. Interment was at the family plot in the Boyden cemetery.

Mrs. John W. Moret, nee Lillian Zwart, daughter of the late William and Barbara Zwart, was born in the Newkirk, Iowa, area, February 6, 1888. The family soon moved near the Leota, Minnesota, vicinity where she grew to womanhood and also received her schooling. On February 23, 1909, she was united in marriage to Gerrit J. Kooiman at Leota, Minnesota.

Two daughters were born to this union: (Bertha) Mrs. Walter Diekevers of Boyden; and (Hilda) Mrs. Hilda Long of La Habra, California.

The family moved to Boyden in February 1925. Mr. Kooiman passed away on August 27, 1937.

On April 19, 1943, Mrs. Kooiman was united in marriage to John W. Moret, who passed away on August 28, 1961.

Mrs. Moret made her home in Boyden until a week ago, when she moved to the Sheldon Nursing Wing. On January 29, 1964, she was called to her heavenly home, very quietly at 7:15 p.m., following a stroke, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 23 days.

She leaves to mourn, her two daughters, Mrs. Diekevers and Mrs. Long; 3 grandchildren, Mrs. John Humme and; Edwin Diekevers of Boyden, and Gordon Long of La Haibra, California; six great-grandchildren; three step-sons, William J. Moret of Sheldon, Henry J. Moret of Sioux Center and Lawrence Moret of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Louis Rens of Jasper, Minnesota and Mrs. Earl Campbell of Owensboro, Kentucky; 26 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Veldhuizen of Woodstock, Minnesota; her twin brother, Bastejaan Zwart, and brother, Ben Zwart, both of Edgerton, Minnesota; besides a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Moret was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church and an associate member of the Ladies Aid and Mission Circle of the Church.
