HOME IS STRICKEN

MRS. JOE STEINFADT DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Was In Poor Health for More Than a Year Before Final Summons Came

Mrs. Joe Steinfadt passed away last Friday at her home in Eagle township, after an illness covering a long period of time. She had been in poor health for more than a year, and was confined to her bed for the past six weeks, her strength failing day by day until the final summons came. Funeral services were held at the Lutheranchurch in Hawarden at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. George Steinkamp conducting the services. Interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery.

Talke Margereth Mohlmann was born September 3, 1871,at Audenburg Germany. She came to America in 1889 with her parents who settled in Plymouth county. The following year, 1890, she was united in marriage to Joe Steinfadt of Grant township, Plymouth county. Eleven years ago they moved to Eagle township, Sioux county, where they have since made their home. To this union eight children were born, five sons and three daughters. Two of the children, William and Rose, have preceded the mother in death

The remaining children are: John. Emil, Mrs. Dora Benecke, Herman, Anna and Henry. Besides the children she leaves to mourn her loss, the husband, her aged mother, Mrs. I Mohlmann of Lemars a stepdaughter, Mrs. Harry Johnson of Ireton, a grandchild, and two brothers and three sisters. The Independent extends sincere condolence to the bereaved relatives in their sad hour.
