Died: May 30, 1943 Hospers, Iowa

Mrs. Gerben Keizer, a pioneer resident of Sioux County and mother of Gerben Keizer of Hawarden, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gerrit Rensink, at Hospers on Sunday, May 30. She was 85 years of age.

Lydia Calsbeek was born in Holland on March 23, 1858, and was married there to Gerben Keizer on Sept. 13, 1877. She came to America with her family in 1887 and settled at Orange City. She was the mother of 11 children, three of whom preceded her in death.

The children who survive her are: Gerben Keizer of Hawarden; Mrs. John Schut of Granger, WA; Wesley Giebink and Peter Keizer of Alton, IA; Cornelius Keizer of Mountain Home, ID; Mrs. Gerrit Rensink of Hospers, IA; Bert Keizer of Orange City, IA; and Wesley Keizer of Sheldon, IA.

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church at Alton last Thursday afternoon.
