Hawarden Independent of Feb 28,1985

Donald E. Reinking, 73, of Hawarden was dead on arrival at a hospital in Akron Sunday, Feb. 24,1985. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Dwight Rengstorf officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. Active pallbearers were Kenneth Reinking, Carl Reinking, Arlan Reinking, Charles Von Hagel and Herk VonHagel. Honorary pallbearers were Clarence Anderson, Lowell Merrill, Bud Swartzbaugh, Dr. David Helgevold, Mose Hendricks and Elmer Popken.

Mr. Reinking was born Nov. 10, 1911, in Wheatland and moved near Maurice with his parents in 1922. He married Margaret Matie Hill June 11, 1936, in Elk Point, SD. They lived in Ireton from 1936 until 1939, Hawarden from 1939 until 1941, Bellflower, Ca, from 1941 until 1944; Noel, MO, from 1944 until 1948 and returned to Hawarden in 1948. He was employed at Ward Lumber Yard in Hawarden for a short time and the Schoeneman Lumber Yard for many years until retiring in 1976. Mrs. Reinking died Oct. 1,1984. Mr. Reinking was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Irwin of Maurice, Clifford of Ireton and Merle of Hudson, SD.
