Ida Stegeman, 94, Bloomington, Minnesota, formerly of Boyden and George, died Tuesday, February 6, at Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Services were Saturday, February 10, at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Boyden, with the Reverends Kim and Trudy Peterson officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery, under the direction of Roste Funeral Home in George.

Ida Stegeman, daughter of David and Christina Deustch, was born October 2, 1912, in Carlock, South Dakota. She married Henry O. Stegeman on January 20, 1945, in Boyden. They lived on the acreage they farmed until 2001 when she “retired” to George. Her last two years were spent in Minnesota near her daughters. She was dedicated member of St. John Lutheran Church in rural Boyden, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was active in the Dorcas Society. In addition to her hobbies from gardening to quilting to crocheting, she found the most enjoyment in serving others, whether in special goodies baked for her family or sewing quilts for world relief.

Survivors include four children, Aaron and Janet Stegeman of Clive, Bernice and David Smolley of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Donna and Conrad Schnerk of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Loreen and Jay Stravers of DeKalb, Illinois; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Erna Hill and Leona and Andy Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry O. Stegeman; four sisters; and three brothers.
