Died: August 13, 2000 Rock Valley, Iowa

Nettie was the daughter of Garret and Annie (TeBrink) Vink. As a young child, her family moved to a farm north of Perkins. About 1940 they moved to a farm north of Hull.

On Oct. 10, 1945, she married John Van Leeuwen at her parents' farm home. John and Nettie farmed northeast of Null and later retired on their farm.

In February of 1999, Mrs. Van Leeuwen became a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. Since July of this year, she had been at the Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley, where she passed away.

She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she participated in all the womens activities and taught Sunday School and Junior C.E. classes. She also assisted with 4-H projects.

Nettie enjoyed crocheting and restoring dolls. She also liked sewing, gardening, especially flowers, and canning.

Survivros include her husband; five children, Gerrit Van Leeuwen of Rock Valley; Everett Van Leeuwen and his wife Bonnie of Orange City; Irwin Van Leeuwen and his wife Helen of Worthington, MN; Lorena and her husband Jerry Sazama of Sioux Falls; Dwayne Van Leeuwen and his wife Gayle of Hull; eleven grandchildren and spouses, three step-great-grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters, George Vink of Hull; Alice Norman of Mora, MN; Albert Vink of Rock Valley; Marian Verburg of Rock Valley; Henry Vink of Colton, S.D.; Anna Scholten of Grand Rapids, MI; and Bernice Reuvers of Marshall, MN.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Vink.
