Jennie Louwerse, 85 of Sioux Center died Friday, February 11, at Sioux Center Community Health Center.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Robert Drenten officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Louwerse was born November 2, 1914 near Rock Valley, the daughter of Lucas & Judith (Van Doorn) Burgers. She married Marinus Louwerse on January 21, 1938, in Rock Valley.

She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and its Sunshine Cirle. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, a son and his wife, Louis & Marilyn of Cedar Rapids; a daughter and her husband, Katherine & William Woelber of Boyden, nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Louwerse of Sioux Center; a brother and his wife, Hans & Alyda Burgers of Sioux Center, and a sister-in-law, Alice Gerritson of Sioux Center.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest.
