Died: December 11, 2001 Grand Rapids, Michigan

Kasjen M. Tebben, 87, of Grand Rapids, MI. went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 11, 2001.

Tebben, son of Matt and Katherina (Brower) Tebben was born March 8, 1917, in rural Clara City, MN. He graduated from Clara City High School and attended Grundy College and Calvin College. He married Etta Ulferts in 1939 and farmed 25 years 4 1/2 miles south of Raymond, MN. While in MN. he was active in Bunde Christian Reformed Church and served on the board of Central Christian School. The couple moved to Grand Rapids in 1964 to continue their education. He attended Reformed Bible Institute. After graduation he had the privilege of starting Pine Gate Chapel in Cutlerville, MI, and served there for 12 years. After retirement, he served as minister of evangelism in Sioux Falls. The couple moved to Sioux Center in 1982. They were members of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and he served as a visiting minister for Bethel, traveled three states in pulpit supply and volunteered for 15 years for home missions and Siouxland Diaconal. Since 1997 they have lived in Grand Rapids to be near their children.

He was a member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church in Cutlerville.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years; four children, Linda (Bruce) Hoeksema, Charles (Darlene) Tebben, Dean (Diane) Tebben and Kent (Kathy) Tebben; a daughter-in-law, Helma (Gerrit) Davelaar; a sister, Grace Sportel; a brother, Harry Tebben; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Davis; and sister, Symka Davis.
