Dan Voorderman, 85, of Sioux Center, died Wed. March 21, 1990 in Pleasant Acres Care Center at Hull.

Services were held Saturday in Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Memory Garden Cemetery under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Mr. Voorderman was born June 11, 1904 in Sioux Center, the son of William and Rena (Wandscheer) Voorderman. He graduated from Sioux Center High School.
He married Catherine DeVries of Hull June 8, 1933 at Sioux Center. She died June 27, 1976. He was a partner in the Coast to Coast Store in Sioux Center for many years.

Mr. Voorderman was a member of Central Reformed Church where he served on the consistory for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Erma Beth DeVries of Alton; a brother, James R. Postma of Delray Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Mindy Sue Voorderman, David Rick DeVries, Connie K. Vander Ploeg, Micca Beth DeVries and Michael Ronald DeVries.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dan; two brothers, Arend Voorderman and Reynold Postma; and a sister, Josie Voorderman.
