Henry (Hank) Obbink, 84, of Sioux Center, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001 at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City. Funeral service was Saturday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Burial was in Memory Garden Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Henry Obbink was born Sept. 24, 1917, to John and Rennie (Andringa) Obbink. He was educated in several different country schools through the eighth grade. He married Marie Vander Helm on Sept. 24, 1937 in Hawarden. They lived in Ogilvie, Minn., for 23 years, they then moved to Hawarden were they farmed for nine years. In 1974 they moved to Sioux Center. Mrs. Obbink died in 1997.

On June 20, 1998 he married Dorothy (Kooistra) Post, they lived in Sioux Center.

He was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church. He was active on the school boards in Ogilvie, Hawarden and Western Christian High School in Hull.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Harold of Boyden, Roger of Hawarden and Gary of Sibley; and five grandchildren.
