Evelyn M. Newton, 90 of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at a local care facility.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born October 13, 1924 in Hawarden, IA; she was the daughter of LeRoy and Anna (Klave) Marshall. Evelyn grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools including Central High School.

She married Clyde E. Newton August 22, 1942 in South Sioux City, NE. He passed away on November 15, 1987 in Sioux Falls, SD.

Evelyn worked for Sioux City Battery Company and for Johnson Biscuit. She enjoyed square dancing, doing cross word puzzles, playing cards and animals.

Survivors include her children: Diane Mandicino (Jim), Clyde C. “Newt” Newton (Karen), Susan Shumansky (Michael) all of Sioux City; 8 grandchildren: Jim A. Mandicino (Pella), Jeff Mandicino (Sherri), Annette Bosse (Dale), Shellie Martin (Ben), Mandy Newton Rosenow (Justin), Clint Newton (Erin), Dawn Spink and Michael P. Shumansky; 15 great grandchildren: Michael, Tyler, Tiffany, Haley, Cody, Zach, Dillon, Jeremy, Brody, Matthew, Kaylynne, Emma, Clementine, Melissa and Kenton; 1 great great granddaughter: Jasmine.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde, a sister Fern Johnson, a brother Ralph Marshall and a great grandson Dominick
