Died: September 15, 1998 Sioux City, Iowa

Edward John Roghair, 72, of Sioux Center, died on Tuesday, September 15,a t Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept 19 at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. John Witvliet officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Edward was born November 17, 1925 in Maurice, the son of Evert Jan and Dena (Riphagen) Roghair. He graduated from Sioux Center High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Irene Mulder on September 5, 1950.

Mr. Roghair was employed with Wandscheer Mfg. Company from 1956 to 1958. He was then employed as head of the natural gas department for the City of Sioux Center for 30 years. He retired in 1988.

Mr. Roghair was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed antique cars and watch repair.

Survivors include his wife; his step-mother, Nell Ver Hoeven of Enumclaw, Wash.; three sons, Ronald, Bruce and Douglas and his wife Carla, all of Sioux Center; three daughters, Beverly and her husband Richard Beckstrom of Sioux Falls, S.D., Carol Kline of Coralville, and Maridee and her husband Eric Olson of Eau Claire, Wis.; six grandchildren, and a sister, Esther Warntjes of Hospers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother William.
