HAWARDEN - Wilma M. (Hazel) Ronsiek, 74, of Hawaden, died Monday, March 6, 2006, at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Hawarden with the Reverend Tim Walker officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be afternoon Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Wilma M. Ronsiek was born June 7, 1931 near Fairview, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Annie (Herman) Hazel. Following graduation from Hudson High School she worked as a dental assistant in Hawarden until her marriage.

She married Harold Ronsiek on March 5, 1953 in Hawarden. They farmed south of Hawarden where Wilma resided until ill health. Wilma was a close partner with Harold in their farming operation until the time of his death in 1983.

She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Hawarden where she taught Sunday School for a number of years, volunteered for various committees, attended Bible studies and was a member of Ruth Circle and Circle of Joy women's groups.

Survivors include her two daughters, Cathy Olson of Sioux Falls, and Cindy Smith of Storm Lake; daughter-in-law, Lisa Ronsiek of Hawarden; three sisters, Nellie Keizer of Akron, Jenny West of Sioux Falls, and Clara Larson of Luverne, Minnesota; three brothers, Bill Hazel of Sioux Falls, John Hazel of Baltic, South Dakota and Ray Hazel of Hudson; a sister-in-law, Margaret Frerichs of Akron; seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a son, Vince; and a brother, Louis Hazel.
