Katie Postma, 83, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock Valley.

Services were Wednesday, June 6, at First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley, with the Reverend Gene Vis officiating. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley, under the direction of Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Katie Jacobsma was born on June 15, 1923 to Bert and Hattie (Van Maanen) Jacobsma northwest of Rock Valley. She was united in marriage to Martin Postma on January 8, 1947 in Rock Valley. Together they lived 41 years on the north end of Main Street. In that time she did some house cleaning. In 2005 they moved to Four Seasons Apartments. Katie loved her grandchildren.

Katie is survived by her husband, Martin; sons: Ron (Judy) Postma of Escondido, California, Vern (Mary) Postma of Rock Valley; daughter, Diana Postma of Parker, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucy (Ken) Bolkema of Leota, Minnesota; brothers: Peter (Alsie) Jacobsma of Rock Valley, Gerrit (Mary) Jacobsma of Luverne, MInnesota, Rob (Carol) Jacobsma of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bernie (Kathy) Jacobsma and Harold (Glenda) Jacobsma all of Luverne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Coba Bliek and Jennie Groen.
