Donald Neuroth, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, formerly of Granville, died on Friday, January 19, at his home.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday morning, January 23, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Ernest Kennedy officiating. Entombment followed in the Carolina Memorial Mausoleum.

Donald Anton Neuroth was born on November 3, 1922, to Joseph A. and Rose (Heitzman) Neuroth in Granville.

He graduated from Alton Public High School in 1941. He was a World War II veteran and honorably discharged from the United States Navy on April 16, 1946. He attended Saint John Catholic Church in Charleston.

Donald married Rose Jacqueline Dawsey on January 25, 1946, in Charleston, South Carolina.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jackie; two sons Donald D. and wife Eve of Charleston and John A. and wife Janet of Summerville; Cindy Brush of Hanahan, Gale Hiatt, Viola Saben and her husband David, all of North Charleston; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nine brothers, Clifford and wife Patricia of Arvada, Colorado, Gene and wife, Carita of Indianapolis, Indiana, Charles and wife Jean, David and wife Gerry, all of Le Mars, Paul and wife Carries of Waterboro, South Carolina, Joe of Seattle, Washington, Pat of Council Bluffs, Rod and wife Paula of Aiken, South Carolina, Tim and wife Connie of Webster City; six sisters, Virginia Wagner of Denver, Colorado, Julia Spieler of Beauerdam, Wisconsin, Joyce Plathe and husband Virgil of Alton, Sarah Rawlings and husband Bill of Sioux City, Marilyn Hammons and her husband Lee of Bonney Lake, Washington, and Theeann Brzuchalski of Granville; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Joseph Spieler and Reynold Wagner and nephew Robert Plathe.
