Mrs. Arthur Vander Sanden died in the Hull hospital at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon following a very severe illness of ten days and the baby son born the same day, died early the following morning.

Edna Jessie Dykstra was born November 26, 1913, on a farm near Orange City where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dykstra resided, and while still a small child moved to the vicinity of Rock Valley where she attended the public school from which she graduated with the class of 1931 and for seven years taught in the rural schools of this vicinity. She was the second child of the family.

She is survived by her widower Arthur Vander Sanden, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dykstra, two brothers and two sisters, William on a farm east of Rock Valley, Jessie M. (Mrs. Clarence Mulder), of Sheldon; Joan and Johnny at home. Five other children died, one at the age of nine years and others while very small.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Dykstra home south of Rock Valley at 1:00 o'clock and in the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley at 1:30 conducted by Reverend H.J. Aberson. Interment was made in the Valley View cemetery.
