Elizabeth Moser, 94, Rapid City, South Dakota, formerly of Lester, died Thursday, December 27, at Morningstar Assisted Living in Rapid City.

Services were Wednesday, January 2, at First United Methodist Church in Rapid City. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery in Lester, under the direction of Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids, and Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Elizabeth Moser, the first daughter of John and Jennie (Van Wyhe) Vande Vooren, was born August 10, 1913, in Sioux Center. She grew up in the Lester area and graduated from high school in 1931. She attended Morningside College in Sioux City, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in rural Lyon County schools and second grade in Ruthven. She married Martin Moser on May 27, 1937, in Rock Rapids. They farmed in the Lester and Inwood area for 36 years. After the death of her husband in January 1974, she moved to Rapid City in November 1975 to be near her daughter, Mary Springhetti.

She was an active member of United Methodist Church in Lester, where she played the piano, taught Sunday School for 30 years, and was actively involved with United Methodist Women. She also was active in the Lyon County Farm Bureau and the Logan Loafers Extension Club. When she moved to Rapid City, she became a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Wesleyan Circle and the XYZ senior citizen group of the church in which she served as president for five years. She was a faithful, active volunteer in the gift shop at Rapid City Regional Hospital for 12 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary and Don Springhetti of Rapid City; a daughter-in-law, Jean Moser of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Moser; a son, Gary Moser; a granddaughter, Jennie Lynn Moser; two brothers; and three sisters.
