Dalaine Joy Pfeil, 38, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Friday June 29, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were at 10 a.m. Tues. at Morningside Reformed Church, Sioux City, with the Rev. Verlyn Schaap officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center.

Mrs. Pfeil was born April 9, 1963 in Grand Rapids, MI. the daughter of Daryl and Maris (Hager) Vander Kooi. They moved to Sioux Center where she attended Christian School. She graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull. She attended Dordt College and also Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, where she studied interior decorating and design. She was employed at Lefko Kitchen and Supplies before moving to Grand Rapids, where she worked at Gorman Furniture. She returned to Sioux City and was employed in sales and design for HOM Furniture. She married Derrick Pfeil on Sept. 15, 2000 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

She attended Morningside Reformed Church and was a member of the Siouxland Y.

Survivors include her husband; her parents of Sioux Center; a brother and his wife, Shane and Kristi Vander Kooi of Sioux Center; a sister and her husband, Michelle and Tom Hoefling of Viborg, S.D.; her paternal grandparents, David and Erna Vander Kooi of Hudsonville, MI; her husband's parents, Dean and Ruby Pfeil of Sioux Center; and two brothers-in-law, Kent and his wife Kristin Pfeil of McKinney, TX, and Daniel Pfeil of Sioux Center.

Memorials may be directed to the Morningside Reformed Church Endowment Fund.
