Last Rites Held In Hawarden For Mrs. G. M. Jones Mrs. George M. Jones, 61, .of New Albany, Ind., a former Hawarden resident, died Saturday after an illness of three years. During her illness she had been up and about her home most of the time. Last fall her condition became critical and her sister, Mrs. Grace Wood of Hawarden, went to New Albany to help care for her. The body was shipped to Hawarden, accompanied by her husband and children, Miles and Mrs. Raymond Tyler and Mrs. Grace Wood.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 yesterday afternoon a! the Methodist church with Rev. B. P. Brown officiating. Three of her nephews, Gordon, Gilbert and Roger Smith, and Romaine Torkelson from Hudson sang "Rock of Ages." Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Frazier Funeral service. Pall bearers were six nephews, Harry Hodoway, Clarence Rush, Bernard Smith, Lawrence Smith, Herbert Wood, jr., and Raymond Smith.

Florine Smith, daughter of W. H. and Margaret Smith, was born November 19, 1889, at Miller, S. D. At the age of 13 she came to Hawarden with her parents and attended school here. On June 17, 1923, she married George M. Jones of Hawarden. They continued to live here until 1942 when the family moved to New Albany, Ind. In her youth shortly after she came to Hawarden, Mrs. Jones united with the Methodist church.

Besides the widower, she is survived by three children, Miles Allen and Mrs. Ruth Tyler of New Albany, Ind., and William Wayne, who is with the U. S. navy at Guam; two grandchildren, Michael and Douglas Jones of New, Albany, four sisters and four brothers, Matty Cordle Rush ; John W. Smith, Mrs. Bertha Hodoway, Mrs. Grace Wood and Harold Smith of Hawarden, Mrs. Mattie Barnes of Brentwood, Calif., Edgar Smith of Huron, S. D., and Porter Smith of Hudson, S. D
