Antoinette Long
Mrs. Antoinette Long, age 96, of Orange City, passed away Monday, May 16, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 18, at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Donald De Glopper officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Antoinette was born September 6, 1897, at Newkirk, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Balkema)
Van Es. She was raised at Newkirk. On June 18, 1916, she married Edwin Swynenberg at Newkirk. They owned and operated the Carnes grocery store for several years. He passed away April 23,1943, at Sioux City.

She later moved to California, where she married Jim Nuckolls on August 4, 1956? He passed away May 26,1972, in California. On November 9, 1972, she married Gilbert "Lee" Long in California. He passed away September 20,1974, in California. In November of 1974, she moved to Orange City. In 1987, she became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home, and in June of 1991, she transferred to the Heritage House Nursing Home, both in Orange City. "Toni" was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church, where she had participated in a circle

Survivors include her brother, the Rev. Peter Van Es, Jr., of San Jose, California; a sister-in-law,
Geneva Baer, of Orange City; and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her six sisters, Edith Van Es Katie Van Es, Tillie Blom, Jennie Vander Wilt, Gertrude Kosters, and Pearl Kraai. Memorials are being directed to missionary Rowland Van Es.
