HAWARDEN, IOWA- VINCENT A. MUTH, 86, of rural Hawarden, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden with Father LeRoy Seuntjens and Monsignor Richard Zenk concelebrating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 4 p.m. Friday at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.

Vincent A. Muth was born July 31, 1920 at Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Walter and Lucille (Ney) Muth. He married Ethelyn E. Engeldinger on May 14, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, Iowa. They made their home on a farm southeast of Hawarden. Vincent enjoyed custom combining and harvesting for others. The couple liked taking family trips and bowling in a mixed bowling league in Akron, Iowa. Ethelyn died on November 2, 2001.

Vincent was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden. He enjoyed fishing with his son Terry, and loved helping people by driving the tractor and wagon at the family business, T & S Christmas Tree Farm near Hawarden.

He is survived by his son, Terry and wife Sue of rural Hawarden; daughter, Linda Muth of Pensacola, Florida; 2 sisters, Maxine Denson of Coralville, Iowa and Virgie Moerer and husband Gene of California; a sister-in-law, Lavonna Muth of California; 2 grandchildren, Robin Miller and husband Dominic of Brookings, South Dakota and Adam Muth of rural Hawarden; and 2 great-grandchildren, Dawson and David Gage Miller.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and 3 brothers, Lloyd in infancy, Walter Muth, Jr. and Bob Muth and his wife Florence.
