Died: December 27, 2001 Sioux Center, Iowa

Marinus Rensink, 87, of Sioux Center died Thursday, December 27, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital Nursing Wing. Funeral services were Saturday, December 29, at 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Roger Voskuil and Wayne Vermeer officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Rensink was born November 26, 1914, at Sioux Center, the son of H. W. and Dena (Voortman) Rensink. He was raised at Sioux Center. He married Bertha Vreeman on February 6, 1935, at Sioux Center, They operated a dairy farm east of Sioux Center until 1969, when they moved into Sioux Center. He was then employed by Siouxpreme Packing for 12 years. He became a resident of Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull in April 1996 and transferred to the Sioux Center Community Hospital Nursing Wing in August 1996.

He was a lifetime, member of First Reformed Church. He enjoyed being a farmer for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Delma and Don Vander Schaaf of Sioux Center and Karen and Harm Oldenkamp of Lakeland, Florida; a son and his wife, Merlyn and Linda Rensink of Sioux Center; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sena Vreeman of Sheldon.

He was preceded in death by a stillborn son; two brothers, Gerrit and Bill Rensink; and a sister, Rena Remmerde.
Memorials may be directed to the Sioux Center Nursing Wing or First Reformed Church.
