DEATHS

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 21, for Mrs. Lina Korthals, 71, from the First Reformed church in Hull with Rev. Donald Boss officiating. Interment was in the Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Korthals passed away at the St. Bernardo hospital in Milbank, S.D. after suffering a heart attack February 17 at the home of her son Leonard, of Milbank.

She was the daughter of Jennie Vos and John Mulder of the Netherlands, born March 22, 1889. At two years of age they moved to America, where they settled in Hull. She was married to Henry Korthals on May 11, 1910. They lived in Hull and Rock Valley until 1927 when they moved to a farm at White Lake, S.D. Her husband, Henry, was killed in an auto accident August 21, 1934.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Herman, two sisters, Jennie and Grace and two children, Evelyn and Gerald, who died in infancy.

Surviving are 12 children, six sons and six daughters: John of George, Henry of Ontario, Ore., Mason of Payette, Ia., Herman of Platte, S.D., Ed of Huron, S.D., Leonard of Milbank, S.D., Gertrude (Mrs. H. Boone) of Sioux Center, Jennie (Mrs. H. Hoogeveen) of Steen, Grace (Mrs. F. Axemaker) and Catherine (Mrs. L. Gales) of White Lake, S.D., Jeanette (Mrs. E. Foltz) of Kimball, S.D., and Leona (Mrs. L. Ramh(b)arter) of Canton, S.D. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren.
